Dali continues to expand its commitment to Open RAN and ecosystem-driven innovation
TIP Summit 2018 – London UK – Oct 16, 2018 – Dali Wireless, Inc., a global leader in wireless fronthaul innovation for virtual RAN, today announced that it has joined the Telecom Infra Project (TIP). Launched in February 2016, TIP was started with the goal of accelerating the pace of innovation in the telecom industry.
Historically, expanding access into rural and less accessible parts of the world has been a challenge due to the significant investment required for traditional hardware and infrastructure. Furthermore, as new applications such as virtual reality, autonomous vehicles and the Internet of Things explode, the requirements of highly populated urban area are also vast and growing.
Dali joins an esteemed group of global organizations committed to achieving TIP’s goal of accelerating innovation, including several of the world’s largest Telecom Service Providers.
Recently, TIP’s OpenRAN Project Group achieved a significant milestone, with two major multinational operators issuing RFIs to assess the ability of vendors to deliver solutions that align with the OpenRAN principles of RAN on general purpose platforms using disaggregated software. Preliminary results of those RFIs are expected to be presented at the TIP Summit in London.
