Digital Optical Repeater is comprised of a Digital Access Unit (DAU) that is RF coupled to the Base Transceiver Station (BTS), and a Digital Remote Unit (DRU) located at areas that BTS signal cannot reach (gaps created by natural or manmade obstacles, tunnels and subways, or inside big buildings). Fiber optic distribution system, based on CPRI interface standard, is used to connect DAU with number of DRUs, in a hybrid star and daisy chain topology. The DRU's can be installed up to 15km apart from the DAU. Dali's digital repeater solution provides industry leading DDC/DUC algorithms operating on FPGA and OS (Linux) driven microprocessor digital platform, enabling signal digital filtration, on-demand system reconfiguration, and remote upgrade (future ready platform able to adopt to new standards). User friendly, highly intuitive Graphical User Interface (GUI) aids wireless operator in daily tasks of system remote monitoring, control, performance enhancement and optimization.
