Danny Lui
General Partner, Startup Capital Ventures
Danny has over 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur and venture capitalist. In 1987, together with the China Academy of Sciences' Institute of Computing, Danny co-founded Lenovo (formerly known as Legend Computer). Seven years later, he led Lenovo's successful IPO on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Lenovo acquired the PC Division of IBM for $1.7 billion in December 2004.
Today, Lenovo is the largest PC maker in China (#3 worldwide [IDC Q1 2006]). Since Danny left Lenovo in 1997, he has been actively investing in early stage companies in the US and China. He is currently General Partner of Startup Capital Ventures.
